Share my 3 years search on Weechat and visits to Malacca on the Zhenghe wooden statute, eventually managed to locate and collected it, claimed to be removed in 1970s from the Zhanghe Temple(Bao Shan Ting) on the foot of Bukit China ans lost out of sight for half a century long, probably due to theft or to giveway to the ancestor's plaque of the orignal builder of the temple . Managed to interviewd a few of the relevant persons and with some still not contactable, still need the verify some of the facts for the truth . Claimed to be the Zhenghe wooden seated statute being worshiped in at the Bukit China "Bao Shan Ting "temple, made of camphor wood coated with gold foil. W17D12H33cm438grame, back with a hidden chamber with a cover of 3x6 cm . Statute was restored by Lim Keow Wah. From my collection of Song, Yuan, Ming , Qing period wooden statutes and from Zhang Zhou clay thread decorated wooden statutes, aged of the surface, samll remains of gold foil , smoked surface, parts eaten by white ants , hidden chamber and back seat tranverse hollow for fingers to grip and hold , this superb carving statute should be dated earlier than Qing and of the Ming period. With the following points: Hansome look, without beard, wear the 4 claws dragons emperor gifted robe, inner with armoured vest(Zhenhe is and court mandarin as well as an army general ), foot with leather boots , jade panels studed belt , three peaks mountain hat,(typical type of official attire high ranking offical close to the emperor) my judgement this is the carved statute of Zhenghe of an enuch mandarin. Hope for discussion and feed back
